Assisting child trauma survivors

Country Pathways, PLLC

Welcome to Country Pathways, PLLC.  My name is Deborah Chelette-Wilson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas.  I have extensive education and experience in assisting others in dealing with childhood abuse and trauma issues.  The stress of these issues when they have been repressed and not processed can lead to  anxiety, depression and health problems.  Unresolved experiences can also affect self-esteem and relationships.  We underestimate not only the power of relationships with others but how early realtionships impact us our entire lives for good or ill.  Research shows that at least 90% of what motivates us in life is unconscious with the other 10%  being conscious.  Research has also shown that unexpressed emotions don't go away they stay stuck in our bodies creating stresses that we are not always aware of until we become dis-eased.   We survive many experiences but that does not mean they are complete.  Until we honor our feelings and integrate those into our mindbody system we remain hostage to our traumas.  My life is dedicated to creating a safe place to coach and assist others on their pathway to healing and wholeness.

Integrating Trauma

Out of the bowels of hell I climb

Up slippery slopes enveloped by darkness.

Sticky tentacles slither around ankles

Grabbing and pulling

Trying to keep me from climbing out

To tell my tale.

Arising from the darkness

A tentacle wraps around and around

Until it reaches my throat hoping to choke

 My  voice into silence.

Another wraps around my chest hoping to crush

My  courage and resolve

To challenge this fate.

I struggle!

I strain!

It’s too much!

I go unconscious.

I wake up!

I break free!

I move toward the light.

Afraid of the light

The tentacles release

Slithering back into the dark abyss.

Bathed in the light

I climb free!

To tell my survivors tale

And

Find the self understanding

That

Thriving exists

as

Trauma is integrated.
